Improvement of the electronic system for the issuance of building permits through the provision of a back-up server, which will enhance its stability and availability for over 6,500 users that benefit from it every day. Server and network equipment were procured through the project, as well as necessary licences. The aim of this activity was to contribute to the creation of a more favourable business environment by improving the efficiency and transparency of the e-government and, ultimatively, to new investments. At the same time, citizens’ trust in institutions, as well as the quality of services that are being offered through the e-government will also be enhanced.

The reconstruction of a boiler room to improve the heating system and renovation of the main hall will enable the Cultural Centre to be fully operational and consequently increase the number of cultural activities. Additionally, it will contribute to the reduction of maintenance costs and pollution in the municipality, while through good governance activities, the Rulebook on management and creation of cultural offers will both be developed.

Economic empowerment of unemployed people (mostly women) from rural areas in Babušnica and Dimitrovgrad municipalities through training and equipping them to commence organic farming. Additionally, the placement of their products will be secured through development and promotion of corporate gifts.

Economic empowerment of Roma women through provision of incentives for starting greenhouse production and creation of comprehensive database on the specific needs of Roma community in the area of social protection, employment, housing, health and education in order to plan future measures for addressing identified issues.

Engagement of caregivers to improve the quality of life of 30 elderly single citizens registered with Centre for Social Welfare and living in the six remote rural areas of the Babušnica Municipality.

Increase employability of women from rural area, by conducting certified training in organic farming. Eight women will be supported to start production of organic vegetables while at least three local organisations will increase competences about employability of women and organic production.

Employment: Contribute to the economic empowerment of at least 20 Roma families through education on the cultivation of blackberries, procurement of seedlings and support in product placement.

Human Security: Improve the security and fire protection in Roma settlements through trainings, provision of fire extinguishers and establishment of volunteer firefighting associations in five municipalities covered by the project.

Support preparation and implementation of local strategies/action plans for employment and social inclusion; Promote active inclusion and improved integration of social and employment services;

Highly educated persons up to 30 years of age will be trained in municipal administration, in order to fulfil conditions for taking the public administration state exam

The assistance will include, trainings for APG management and Study tour to one of the European Union countries

The development of the main design for the reconstruction and adaptation of the marketplace and the necessary access roads. The technical documentation will create conditions to improve the economic potentials of the local population predominantly engaged in agriculture and dairy farming.

Improving the position of women and girls in Babušnica through economic empowerment and public health-awareness raising. This will be achieved by contributing to the certification process for organic products and awareness raising about reproductive health in the community.
