The reconstruction of the resort for children in Lipovac near Aleksinac has started with the EU support

With European Union (EU) support the municipality of Aleksinac has started work on the reconstruction of the facility for rest and recreation of children "Lipovac" in order to provide better services and conditions for the stay of children, athletes and tourists.

The EU grant worth over 380,000 Euros provided through the EU PRO Plus programme, which is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration, will be invested in the complete reconstruction of this building. The works include roof covering, replacement of interior and exterior carpentry, the thermal insulation of the facade, replacement of the electrical, water and sewerage networks, as well as the installation of the heating in and solar collectors, while each room will have a separate bathroom, with access for disabled people enabled.

"This will be the first such large investment in a building in Lipovac since its establishment in 1975, and thus the municipality has determined significant funds for participation in the realization of the project in the amount of over 236,000 Euros. With European Union support we want to improve the tourist offer of our municipality, that is, to improve the conditions in this institution, which, in addition to recreational and nature education, also provides services to athletes, mountaineers and scouts, recreationalists, and organizes art and literary colonies," said Dalibor Radičević, the Mayor of  Aleksinac. As Radičević pointed out, since last year the municipality has restarted a free stay in Lipovac for all pupils from the first to fourth grade of primary schools in the territory of the municipality.

The works, which will last 90 days, are being carried out by the GP "Tončev gradnja" from Surdulica, which was selected in the public procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Aleksinac.

The project in Aleksinac is one of 20 economic infrastructure projects in the regions of Šumadija and Western Serbia and Southern and Eastern Serbia that the EU supports through the EU PRO Plus Programme with more than five million Euros. The projects aim to improve local competitiveness by improving business conditions and attracting new investments. The works include the construction or reconstruction and infrastructural equipping of industrial zones, tourist zones, as well as the preparation of technical documentation for the purpose of developing economic infrastructure.
